China overtakes US in fast growing smart speaker market : Smart speaker market share data from Canalys shows China reached 10.6 million units by growing nearly 500% year-on-year in Q1 2019. Driven by festive promotions, smart speaker sell-in shipments in China bucked the global seasonality trend by growing 23% sequentially. Microsoft’s Azure Speech Services Can Transcribe Multi-User Conversations in Real Time, Without Using Additional Hardware : As a part of the Azure Speech Services, an advanced speech-to-text offering called Conversation Transaction Service is announced by Microsoft at its annual Build developer conference on Monday.The new service is designed to not only recognise the voice but also correctly identify the speakers and transcribe their conversations in real time. Last year, Microsoft notably introduced a device prototype that had an array of microphones to identify attendees in meetings and enable real-time transcriptions.
