Ericsson with Bharti Airtel to expand 3G and roll out 4G Networks in India

Bharti Airtel and Ericsson have inked a deal over rollout of 4G (LTE-FDD) network in Delhi. The two companies have also signed an agreement to expand 3G WCDMA network across eight telecom circles in India. Both the agreements are for four years. Ericsson will enable Bharti Airtel to meet growing customer demand for mobile broadband services while delivering superior network performance. On 4G, Airtel subscribers will be able to enjoy an improved smartphone experience, with faster web browsing, downloads, video on demand, and many other services. Next big ad war on 4G data is about to trigger

The launch of high-speed 4G data services is set to become the next high-stakes battleground for telecom companies, and media buyers are expecting operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio Infocomm to spend millions of dollars on advertising over the next few months to grab market share. According to a person who in his previous job helped Bharti Airtel formulate its media plan, it will all depend on what Jio’s plans are.
