VMware is planning to acquire Boxer, a privately-held company that offers a comprehensive and secure personal information management (PIM) solution for mobile devices to businesses and consumers. The proliferation of applications, devices and an increasingly mobile workforce has driven up the cost and complexity of managing end-users. HP announces official split of the company in India

The US technology firm HP (Hewlett-Packard) has announced its split into two separate companies – HP Enterprise and HP Inc. The company has divided its computer and printer business from its corporate hardware and services operations. According to the latest update, HP’s present Chief Executive Meg Whitman will head both HP Enterprise and HP Inc., and the enterprise segment will house the corporate hardware and services operations. Rajiv Srivastava, Vice-President & General Manager, PPS, HP India, said that the operational separation is taking place and legal separation will take 17 days on the line.
