Vishak Raman appointed head FireEye India & SAARC

Vishak Raman has joined FireEye as a Senior Regional Director for India and SAARC. Vishak is a security industry veteran and joins from Tata Communications where he was Vice-President for Global Product Management for Managed Security Services and Content Delivery Networks. “As India becomes increasingly connected with technology and its economy grows more reliant on intellectual property, cybersecurity has become a matter of national and economic security. Worldwide augmented and virtual reality revenues to reach $162 bn

The worldwide revenues for the augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) market will grow from $5.2 billion in 2016 to more than $162 billion in 2020 says IDC. This represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 181 percent over the 2015-2020 forecast period. “For many years augmented and virtual reality were the stuff of science fiction. Now with powerful smartphones powering inexpensive VR headsets, the consumer market is primed for new paid and user generated content-driven experiences. China joins the ranks of the world’s 25 most-innovative economies, while Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Finland and Singapore lead the 2016 rankings in the Global Innovation Index. China’s top-25 entry marks the first time a middle-income country has joined the highly developed economies that have historically dominated the top of the Global Innovation Index (GII) throughout its nine years of surveying the innovative capacity of 100-plus countries across the globe. China’s progression reflects the country’s improved innovation performance as well as methodological considerations such as improved innovation metrics in the GII.
