European and Indian Research and Technology Organizations to Produce Joint Roadmap for Advanced IT Research

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE The Open Group and the Interactive Technology Software and Media Association (ITSMA) have announced that they have partnered with a consortium of leading European and Indian research and technology developers to identify future areas for coordination of government funded IT research. Supported by the European Commission, the Fostering Cooperation in Computing Systems for EU and India (EU-INCOOP) project is investing over 460,000 EURO (US$630,000) to bring together leading researchers from India and Europe to identify priorities and develop a joint research roadmap that is said to increase cooperation and address future technology needs in each region. The roadmap and recommendations is claimed to be used to identify areas of common interests and foster closer links between Governments’ funded research projects in Europe and India. Epson expands Mono Inkjet Range with K300

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Epson has expanded its K-series monochrome inkjet printers with the New Epson K300 - an all in one monochrome printer with an auto document feeder (ADF). These new mono inkjet printers are believed to be specifically designed to outperform mono laser printers for customers who only need to print black and white documents at very low cost per page. Like other Epson's K-series printers, the Epson K300 is said to design to help customers lower the cost of printing with the lowest black page printing costs per page in the industry. The Epson K-series printers are supposed to offer users one of the lowest cost per page (cpp) of any monochrome cartridge-based printer at only 0.60 paise. This cost per page is up to 70% lower than original toner used by laser printers of similar price. HCL announces Q2 FY 2012 Results

It has estimated a 43.3-per cent jump in net profit to Rs.572.7 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011. The company's net profitis claimed to stand at Rs.399.7 crore in the October-December quarter of 2010. HCL is believed to be focussed on both market share and EPS expansion. The company follows July–June fiscal year.
