Progress Software to set up Incubation Centres

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Progress Software is believed to help three engineering colleges in setting up incubation centres in Hyderabad. These centres are said to provide office space for third year students to work on their project ideas. The company would interact with students to guide them on their project roadmap besides helping colleges. Ramesh Loganathan, VP & Centre Head, Progress Software India said, "The idea is to find talent quite early and groom them. By the time they complete their course, they are ready with a product. We have invited proposals from students. We will short-list them and pick 8-10 ideas in each college for handholding. These students would get a chance to work on our IT platforms to develop products." AMD realigns Product Roadmap for India

The company also aims to offer more incentives to its India distributors. Rory Read, Chief Executive Officer, AMD said, "India is still under penetrated when it comes to computing devices and this can be attributed to other reasons beyond price. We will bring to market devices that will consume less power." Infosys signs up with Technopark

Yahoo to cut 2,000 jobs globally

The experimental 'augmented reality' glasses - from the same team that is developing self-driven cars - can snap photos, initiate videochats and display directions at the sound of a user's voice. A video posted at a Project Glass page at Google+ social network confirmed the rumor that the technology titan is working on eyewear that meshes the online world with the real world.
