Dell acquires Cloud Start-up "Enstratius"
VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE As per an announcement made by Dell(NASDAQ:DELL) , it has acquired a cloud start-up firm Enstratius . The acquisition is expected to give Dell another way to provide end-to-end-cloud solutions. Founded in 2008, Enstratius provides single and multi-cloud management capabilities as well as DevOps space, which will help Dell to move deeper into the software business. Enstratius is available as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or as on-premises software. Presently, the company supports more than 20 public and private cloud platforms, including OpenStack, VMware , Rackspace, Amazon Web Services and Windows Azure , with the added flexibility to easily add new clouds. It is worth noticing here that Dell has been making some interesting moves with its cloud approach in the recent times.
