Blue Coat identifies New Fake Anti-Virus Attack

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Blue Coat Systems has announced that Blue Coat Security Labs has identified a new variant of a fake anti-virus attack that uses web advertisements to relay users into the Shnakule network. The Blue Coat WebPulse service identified the fake anti-virus payloads as malware and automatically blocked them, protecting 75 million customers worldwide. The latest Shnakule attack is a three-staged attack that utilizes Web advertisements. In the first stage, ad servers were set up as independent entities, not directly associated with each other or any existing Shnakule sub-networks, to route users to malware. In the second stage, a new Shnakule subnetwork relays users to the malware. The final stage is the malware payload, which changes frequently in an attempt to avoid detection from anti-virus software. Groupon trims jobs in China

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Groupon Inc is to cut some underperforming staff at its Chinese joint venture Gaopeng. It has entered China in February through a tie-up with China's Tencent Holdings Ltd and has faced intense competition from the start. Industry report claimed that Groupon was laying off some staff. Cuts started in April and in June department heads were asked to cut up to 5 percent of employees. A spokesperson for Gaopeng said talks of layoffs were just a rumor and there was only some "normal personnel adjustment." Market report reveals that these two tablets are very important for Samsung as the company is probably trying to create a buzz before the actual launch. MTNL to seal 3G roaming deals with Tata Tele, Aircel

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) is to finalise two private companies, Tata Teleservices and Aircel, for 3G roaming agreements in the Delhi and Mumbai circles, as per industry report. According to the report, this deal with the tele-companies is expected to bring the state-owned telecom company an additional annual Rs. 250-300 crore. It will help in improving its financial situation. Sources reveal that the final stage of the deal has been approved. Kuldeep Singh, Chairman & MD, MTNL said, "We are in discussions with both of Tata Teleservices and Aircel. The final deal will be announced soon." MTNL and BSNL, were awarded 3G spectrum a year ahead of the auction for private companies. MTNL had to cancel the earlier tender due to some regulatory issues, which is why it had invited bids from private service providers for this in June last year.
