Samsung brings free 3D VOD Service in India

Samsung has extended its 3D Video-On-Demand (VOD) service to India. The 3D content will include movie trailers, music videos, children's classics, as well as lifestyle videos and documentaries. The service will feature 3D movie trailers from How to train Your Dragon, Shrek4, Megamind and Kung Fu Panda 2 as well as music videos from popular bands - Girls Generation, Super Junior and BoA.

Raj Kumar Rishi, VP - AV Business, Samsung India, said, "Samsung has explored a number of ways to allow consumers to enjoy 3D content at the touch of a button. This is why we have launched the 3D VOD service. In order to better meet the needs of our discerning consumers, we will continue to expand content provided through 3D VOD service. This serves to reinforce our commitment to our consumers, and by raising the bar, strengthens our global leadership in TV technology and competitiveness."

Samsung's Free 3D VOD service is available on all 2011 Samsung 3D Smart TVs - 10 models in the screen sizes between 32" and 60" across Series D6000, D6600, D7000 and D8000 priced between Rs.57,900/- and Rs.400,000/-. The D8000 Plasma is available in 64" screen size priced at Rs.230,000/-.
