Google welcomes more games

Cisco announces winners of NetRiders India 2011

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Cisco has announced the winners of its National Networking Skills Competition, NetRiders India 2011. Aakanksha Mishra and Ravi Agarwal from CRISP (Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance) Bhopal won the contest while Dhanapal Santhosh and Manish Bavne from CRISP Bhopal and Gaurav Singh Ahlawat and Rupinderjit Singh from Thapar University, Patiala, were the first and second runners up respectively. VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communications and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd are badly hit due to the introduction of Mobile Number Portability. Reliance has lost more than 11.5 lakh subscribers and Tata Teleservices has seen 3.7 lakh subscribers leaving its network ever since MNP was introduced in November last year, Department of Telecom claimed. Mobile number portability was introduced in Haryana on November 25 and extended it across the country on January 20 by Indian operators. As per the data from the telecommunications regulator, about 13 million subscribers have requested for a change in service providers until the end of June, when India had 851.7 million mobile-phone users. Idea Cellular, Vodafone and Bharti Airtel are the biggest gainers with net addition of 8.2 lakh, 7.1 lakh and 6.5 lakh subscribers respectively. Fortinet Threat Landscape Research reveals New Android Botnet

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Fortinet has released its latest Threat Landscape report, which details a new variant of Zitmo (Zeus in the mobile) that was written to run on the Android operating system, allowing the malware to continue its expansion across mobile platforms beyond the Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry operating systems. The first variant of Zitmo on Symbian OS (SymbOS/Zitmo.A!tr) was found in September 2010 and was based on commercial, Russian spyware for Symbian 3rd and 5th editions (SMS Monitor Lite). Zitmo has since evolved and is now capable of intercepting two-factor authentication that banks use to validate the identity of the account-holder when logging in (it is a one-time password that is sent to a mobile device via SMS). Even if a mobile user does not rely on the two-factor authentication method for banking activities, Zitmo can forward and spy on all SMS messages, making it a valid threat. Samsung creating Hindi version of Android

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Samsung and Google are planning for a Hindi version of the Android operating system (OS), claimed sources. There is no Hindi version of the Android OS yet, despite of being one of the most popular smartphone operating systems in India. This OS currently supports the major European languages and Chinese. According to the buzz, Asim Warsi, Director of Marketing, Samsung's mobile business said, "Since it is a third party OS, we do not have much control over it. We are presently in talks with Google for such a version. However, we can't comment on when it will be done as that is not in our control."
