Concentrix Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SYNNEX Corporation, has announced that it has closed its recently announced acquisition of Tigerspike.  Tigerspike is a high-value digital products and strategy company founded in 2003. The company has operations in Australia, Singapore, UAE, Japan, USA, Poland, and the UK. Alex Burke, CEO of Tigerspike joins Concentrix' senior executive staff, reporting to Chris Caldwell, President of Concentrix.  This transaction aligns with Concentrix' stated strategy to further invest in digital and enabling technologies to create effortless, personalized customer engagements and improved business intelligence and performance for its clients..... Arvind Vohra resigns as Gionee India CEO & MD, will continue as Executive Director

After serving the company for nearly five years, Arvind Vohra has stepped down as Gionee India's chief executive officer and managing director. He however will continue in the company as its executive director.  The Chinese smartphone brand will announce the replacement for the post of CEO soon, most likely to be someone from China operations.  "I will not be taking care of daily operations, but I will continue in the company as executive director. After Sony, hackers target HBO with serious consequences

HBO has suffered a major cyber attack which has resulted in the leak of upcoming episodes of a couple of series and at least one alleged script or treatment. With this HBO has joined the ranks of Hollywood entertainment companies that have been a victim of such cyber incidents in the past. The leaked content have been put online by hackers who breached the company’s systems and are threatening to come up soon with more such attacks. So far, an upcoming episode of Ballers and Room 104 have apparently been put online. There is also written material that’s allegedly from next week’s fourth episode of Game of Thrones. Altogether hackers claim to have obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from the company.... Read More

Cisco ropes in Sameer Garde as President, Cisco India and SAARC

Apple and Nokia settled patent disputes

Apple and Nokia have been fighting over the patents for five months after they had sued each other over royalty payments and the legal battel between the two companies and Apple filed an antitrust lawsuit (PDF) against Nokia, accusing the company of moving "massive numbers of patents" to patent assertion entities and Nokia counter-attacked the following day by accusing Apple of infringing fully 32 of its smartphone patents. According to Nokia, every version of the iPhone, from the iPhone 7 all the way back to the 3GS, infringed Nokia patents.  In response, Nokia filed lawsuits in 11 countries, including Germany and the United States, aiming to defend its intellectual property. ACT Fibernet will launch 150 Mbps broadband speed in Delhi beginning 1st August 2017, and will revise its existing fixed term broadband plans that will allow customers to enjoy higher speeds at no additional cost.  Under the retail customer plan umbrella, ACT Bronze will be upgraded to 75 Mbps with 250 GB data transfer (125 GB FUP Up+ 125 GB FUP down), ACT Silver will be upgraded to 75 Mbps speed and 350 GB data transfer (175 GB up + 175 GB down), ACT Gold will be upgraded to 100 Mbps speed with 500 GB data transfer (250 GB up + 250 GB down) and ACT Platinum will be upgraded to 150 Mbps speed with total of 600 GB data transfer (300 GB up + 300 GB down) limit.
