PandaLabs warns rise about threats

YouTube buys video tech firm Green Parrot

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Google online video service YouTube bought Green Parrot Pictures, whose video software has been used in several Hollywood blockbusters. The Dublin, Ireland-based company specializes in providing intellectual licensing and high quality picture manipulation technology. Its video improvement technology has been used in movies such as "Lord of the Rings," "Spider-Man" and "King Kong," among others. Chief Executive Anil Kokaram, an associate professor at Trinity College in Dublin, founded it in 2004. Kokaram and his team will be moving to California in coming months. YouTube, which used to be known for low-grade videos uploaded by users, hopes to improve the quality of some of the videos further by using the Green Parrot technology. Warren Buffett to visit India next week

Earlier this month, Berkshire Hathaway Inc, the firm run by Buffett tied up as a corporate agent for India's Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, marking its entry into the insurance sector in Asia's third-largest economy.
