HP bags Rs. 400 Crore Corporation Bank Deal

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   The technology services company  Hewlett-Packard(NYSE:HPQ)  has reportedly notched yet another big deal. According to the latest update, HP has won a Rs 400-crore technology outsourcing contract from public sector lender  Corporation Bank . It is worth noticing here that other biggies of industry including Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro, were also in the race to get the Corporation Bank deal. Under the terms of the deal, HP will design and implement necessary enterprise software along with setting up and maintaining bank's data centre. Intex innovates Its Networking Solutions with New Products

Additionally, Intex has revealed that it is planning to build its enterprise business by expanding its products category. As part of this business plan, the company is planning to ramp up its product strategy to offer a wide range of networking solutions that will cater to the needs of the users having internet connection by any ISP in India. The wireless modems include W300D and W150D delivering a wireless speed of up to 300Mbps and 150Mbps, respectively. Global IT spend to decrease for 2013: Gartner

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   As per the latest update, research firm  Gartner  lowered its projections for  global IT spending for 2013 to $3.7 trillion , while, according to the previous estimate, Garnet forecasted a growth rate of 4.1 per cent in overall IT spending.  It is important to note here that the IT spending was projected at $3.6 trillion in 2012. Exchange rate movements, and a reduction in our 2013 forecast for devices, account for the bulk of the downward revision of the 2013 growth. However, Western Europe's constant currency growth has been inched up slightly as strategic IT initiatives in the region will continue despite a poor economic outlook, said  Richard Gordon, Managing Vice-President, Garner Research Inc. Airtel Announces 'Free' Roaming Packs

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   As the clamour for free roaming across india continue to grow, telecom service provider  Bharti Airtel  has announced 'free' incoming national roaming packs. The country's biggest telecom company, Airtel became the first to announce  "free incoming calls"  on roaming at a charge of Rs 5 for a day. The customer who will make outgoing calls while roaming is being charged 1.5 paise for a second. The second plan of AIrtel costs Rs. 79 to the users which can avail free incoming calls on national roaming for a period of 30 days.
