Motorola has launched the Moto X Play smartphone in India. The smartphone will be available exclusively in Flipkart, Motorola’s exclusive online retail partner, priced at Rs.18,499 for the 16GB variant, and Rs.19,999 for the 32GB variant. IBM acquires StrongLoop to strengthen Cloud Portfolio

Big Data strategy benefits 90% organizations despite challenges-CA Technologies

As per CA Technologies’ global study, Enterprise Big Data strategies are delivering key benefits to organizations despite noted challenges in implementation. Most notably, nine out of 10 organizations are experiencing or anticipate seeing, more effective targeted marketing and selling campaigns. Additionally, 88 per cent see or anticipate increased revenue. These benefits are impressive despite 92 per cent of respondents citing obstacles to their Big Data projects. The study, titled The State of Big Data Infrastructure: Benchmarking Global Big Data Users to Drive Future Performance, revealed the top five major obstacles to overcome for successful big data project implementation. Intel releases its Security Report on Tackling Attack Detection and Incident Response

A new report, Tackling Attack Detection and Incident Response, from Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG), commissioned by Intel Security, examines organizations’ security strategies, cyber-attack environment, incident response challenges and needs. The survey found that security professionals are inundated with security incidents, averaging 78 investigations per organization in the last year, with 28 per cent of those incidents involving targeted attacks – one of the most dangerous and potentially damaging forms of cyber-attacks.
