Microsoft buys start-up id8

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   The Redmond giant has notched yet another acquisition. According to the latest update, Microsoft Corp  has bought a new start-up id8 Group R2 Studios Inc. The latest acquisition will help Microsoft to expand further in technology focussed on the home and entertainment. Started in 2011, id8 Group R2 Studios is founded by Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor Blake Krikorian. Recently, Krikorian launched a Google Android application which is likely to facilitate users to control home heating and lighting systems from smartphones.  It is worth noticing here that Krikorian is an ex-amazon.com. India to have 165 Million Mobile Internet Users by 2014

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Internet users, who are accessing the web through mobile devices including smartphones and tablets and dongles in India, are continuously increasing. According to the latest report generated by IAMAI, mobile Internet users in India are expected to reach to a benchmark of  165 million by March 2014. The report generated by  Internet and Mobile Association of India  (IAMAI) further revealed that the number of mobile Internet users is expected to reach a milestone of 87 million by December 2012 from 78.7 million users in October 2012.  Further, it is said that the number is expected to reach 92.9 million by March 2013, 130.6 million by March 2014 and 164.8 million by March 2015...... Ericsson and Etisalat join hands over Network Services

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   According to the latest announcement,  Ericsson signed a new agreement with Etisalat Egypt  to transform the telecom operator’s radio network to enable a full range of converged information and telecom services that will bring improved quality and speed of services to its subscribers. As part of the deployment,  Ericsson  will provide  Etisalat Egypt  with its latest RBS 6000 radio base station technology. This will enable energy-efficient and cost-effective operations while allowing the operator to meet the demands of its growing subscriber base with better and faster mobile Internet connectivity and quality mobile coverage throughout the country. What is more, it will enable Etisalat Egypt to prepare the network for LTE (4G). Saeed ElHamly, CEO, Etisalat Egypt, said, “Demand for voice and data services is constantly increasing.
