Lenovo pips HP to become Global No. 1 PC maker

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   Lenovo  is being crowned with laurels after laurels. The Chinese PC maker which came to the forefront of the world’s attention when it acquired IBM’s PC business eight years ago, has now become the Number 1 PC maker in the world. According to statistics on worldwide personal computer shipments for the second quarter released by  International Data Corporation  and  Gartner , Lenovo has edged past H.P to emerge as the top supplier of Personal computers. Dell is a distant third. However, the global PC shipments have also dropped. According to Gartner’s report, total PC shipments worldwide were 76 million, down 10.9 percent. I.D.C. put the number at 75.6 million, down 11.4 percent. This is the fifth straight quarterly decline for PC industry. Hitachi and Microsoft join hands via Cloud OS Accelerate Program
