Infosys announces National winners of Aspirations2020

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Infosys Ltd has announced the National winners of Aspirations2020, an online programming contest, organized by the company. The winning team (Nitish Chhangani, Mahak Rajvanshi, Nandkishore Agrawal) from Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jodhpur, Rajasthan received a certificate and a 64GB iPad for each team member, while the runners up (Timothy Tarun Andrew, Saurabh Meshram, Gajendra Singh KBN) from CMR Institute of Technology, Bangalore, Karnataka received a certificate and a 32GB iPad for each team member. SIRv11 further revealed that user interaction, typically employing social-engineering techniques, is attributed to nearly half of all malware propagation in the first half of 2011. In addition, more than one-third of all malware is spread through cybercriminal abuse of Win32/Autorun, a feature that automatically starts programs when external media, such as a CD or USB, are inserted into a computer. Sony signs LTO-6 Licence Agreement

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE Sony Corporation's Storage Media Division has signed an LTO-6 licence agreement with the Linear Tape-Open (LTO) Program Technology Provider Companies (TPCs) consisting of HP, IBM and Quantum. This agreement now allows Sony to start developing its own LTO-6 Ultrium media. The LTO-6 tape technology is aimed at supporting the ever-increasing storage capacity requirements of today's data rich storage environments. Each cartridge will be able to store up to an estimated 3.2TB native (8TB 2.5:1 compressed) data. This new generation of LTO Ultrium format will also deliver an impressive data transfer rate of up to 210MB/s native (525MB/s 2.5:1 compressed). Although LTO-6 tape technology is still in development and final specifications are not yet available, the TPCs have opened the opportunity for licensees to begin development.
