Mobile phones banned inside Karnataka Assembly

With the TV clip where MLAs caught watching clippings and pictures inside the House going viral, a ban has been imposed on carrying mobile phones inside the legislative assembly of Karnataka. An MLA was caught surfing photographs on his cellphone downloaded from WhatsApp during a serious debate on sugarcane pricing in the recently held session in Karnataka. MLAs were caught not only watching video clippings but also playing games like Candy Crush during the assembly sessions. Following such incidents legislative assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa had announced that he was contemplating imposing a ban on mobiles in the assembly. MLAs were asked to deposit their mobile phones in a wooden locker, where a marshal was put up to keep a watch on the deposited mobiles.   See more at: 

Flipkart prepares itself for another Big Billion-Day Sale

''Har haath mein phone"

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE   The UPA Government is planning a Rs.7,000 crore scheme to provide one mobile phone for every Below Poverty Line (BPL) household in India. The scheme is named as 'Har haath mein phone" (phone in every hand), expected to be introduced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 15, will not only aim to give away mobiles to around six million BPL households, it would also provide 200 minutes of free local talktime. It is believed that, the cost per phone to the government would be around Rs.60-100 a month along with a one-time cost of around Rs.1,000 if the cheapest cell phone with basic interface is given. The Telecom Department's Universal Service Obligation (USO) funds is said to fund half the cost and the remaining would come from the bidder who claims to provide the service. for More Details See www.varindia.com

NCR initiates Mobile Cash Withdrawal

NCR Mobile Cash Withdrawal will make ATM transactions faster and more secure, by removing cards and PINs from the process at the ATM. The entire transaction, while the consumer is in front of the ATM, can take less than ten seconds. Consumers will authenticate through their existing mobile banking application and pre-stage the transaction via an embedded NCR Mobile Cash Withdrawal function. Consumers can use any iOS or Android smartphone at any location and at any time and then choose the amount of their transaction.
