Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9 to arrive on Aug 10
According to market buzz, Samsung is all set to roll its Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablets in India on 10 August 2011. Market report reveals that these two tablets are very important for Samsung as the company is probably trying to create a buzz before the actual launch.
Samsung had showcased these tablets earlier in April as well. It is expected to be priced similar to the iPad 2 which costs between Rs. 32,000 and Rs. 42,000 depending on the variant as per the international prices of these tablets. The device is seen as the top contender to challenge the dominance of Apple iPad in the tablet space.
Both Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 feature Android 3.0 Honeycomb, but the upgrades to 3.1 version is available for markets where the tablet is already available. The report reveals that the company has announced the over-the-air upgrade (for existing users) to its TouchWiz UI (user interface), which it has developed for tablets along with various enterprise-centric features, some new apps and the addition of Swype. Some of the other features of the tablet include Flash support, full HTML Web rendering capabilities, better power management and a neater user interface. The devices are 3G+ capable so users will get up to 21 Mbps download speeds depending on the operator. These new offerings from Samsung offer better graphics and gaming experiences.
