Progress Software to set up Incubation Centres

VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE

Progress Software is believed to help three engineering colleges in setting up incubation centres in Hyderabad. These centres are said to provide office space for third year students to work on their project ideas. The company would interact with students to guide them on their project roadmap besides helping colleges.

Ramesh Loganathan, VP & Centre Head, Progress Software India said, "The idea is to find talent quite early and groom them. By the time they complete their course, they are ready with a product. We have invited proposals from students. We will short-list them and pick 8-10 ideas in each college for handholding. These students would get a chance to work on our IT platforms to develop products."

He added, "They can start working on their projects during the summer and fine-tune the products thru the fourth year. "By the time they finish their course, they are ready with a product. Even if they fail, they would know where and when to stop. This will help in their future projects."

The colleges he referred to are Vasavi Engineering College, BVR IT (which incubated Notion Ink's Adam project) and Engineering College in Osmania University.
