Converging networking and security breaks down silos and encourages collaboration across the network:  The convergence of security and networking offers significant opportunities for partners to meet their customers’ demands for performance and protection.   RAJESH MAURYA, Regional Vice President, India & SAARC, Fortinet   in an interview with   VAR India   explains why partners should embrace security-driven networking.   How can partner secure customers networks that are fragmented and now include new unique edges? Establishing a flexible and adaptive network that connects in-person and remote workers is challenging. Similarly, managing security in a continuously evolving threat landscape becomes increasingly difficult, especially for organizations using legacy solutions and strategies.   Partners can help their customers address these issues by working with them to implement a security-driven networking strategy. Fortinet secures Muthoot Fincorp’s 3,800 Branches

Image
Fortinet has announced that Muthoot Fincorp has deployed its FortiGate network security platform, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer centralized management and reporting appliances to secure its data center and network of over 3,800 branches. Prior to the Fortinet deployment, Muthoot Fincorp’s branches were linked to its head office over unsecured broadband connections. There was no fallback or assurance on quality of service. The company wanted to upgrade its IT infrastructure to provide secure and fail-proof connectivity to its branches, many of which are located in tier-II and -III cities and remote villages. “Our experience with Fortinet’s solutions and support has been very reassuring. The deployment is not yet complete, but we are already seeing clear RoI from reduced phone bills due to VoIP use, reduced bandwidth cost on data cards, reduced server and PC downtime in branches, and reduced branch connectivity downtime due to redundant MPLS connectivity. On top of these, we are ...

Fortinet to protect Enterprises against Threats

Fortinet is protecting customers at every entry point into the network with its expanded Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) framework, which extends from endpoint devices all the way to the data center. The company has announced enhancements to its FortiClient solution, which enables every device – local or remote, stationary or mobile – to be protected anytime, anywhere. Only Fortinet can offer such broad and integrated protection in a security platform that scales from the endpoint to the cloud, from megabit to terabit, and can be deployed across an organization from the smallest office to th...
