Yahoo buys email management app Xobni
VARINDIA- INDIA'S FRONTLINE IT MAGAZINE It seems Yahoo is seeking to revamp its online products and boost its Web traffic. Just after acquiring mobile app company Qwiki , Yahoo has announced yet another buyout. This time, Yahoo has acquired email and address book management app Xobni. A Yahoo spokesperson said that Xobni’s employees will now join Yahoo, including its Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bonforte, who previously worked at Yahoo. It is worth noticing here that the latest acquisition is Yahoo’s fourth acquisition in recent time. In May, it bought Tumblr, which is a microblogging platform and social networking website which allows users to post multimedia and other content to a short-form blog, for $1.1 billion.
