RIM rolls out BlackBerry App World 3.0

Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled a new version of its BlackBerry App World application. Although currently in the beta Phase, the BlackBerry App World 3.0 comes with a different look than its predecessor and brings some improvisations to impress its users. BlackBerry has tried to keep it as simple as possible with the new application. The interface of the new app has been made touch friendly with bigger icons and gesture based controls. A search bar has been included right on top of the application with a new and refined search engine. Users can simply search the application based on the name, developer and even the price.

Besides, the newer application also gets grouping of the similar apps in the form of tabs like games, application, and themes. Also featuring on the home page is an app banner that suggests applications to the users on the basis of popularity and users can also see 25 top apps in each category. Users can head straight to the BlackBerry Beta zone to get hands on experience of the new app world. PS users need to be registered with the BlackBerry Beta zone in order to download and use this application.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
