Airtel debuts its emergency alert service in eastern India 
Aimed at the women's safety Bharti Airtel has launched its emergency alert service in the eastern region in India. The service allows users to send an alert to 10 contacts in case of any emergency.
According to Vir Inder Nath, Chief Operating Officer, Kolkata and West Bengal Telecom Circle, “Airtel is also in talks with the local police department to have a police helpline number on the loop.Out of total customer base of around 19 million are in the states of West Bengal and Odisha and one-third would be female. We expect subscription for this service from about 10 per cent from female customer”.
The service is priced at Rs. 30 with a validity of 30 days. To avail Airtel’s latest the service, users need to type HELP in the message box and send it to 55100, which will be then sent to all 10 contacts......See More
