Sunil Lalvani to quit BlackBerry Ltd.

The news that is making the rounds in the industry circle is that Sunil Lalvani, India Head of BlackBerry Ltd. is resigning after serving two years with the company. He took charge of the Canadian telecommunication’s India wing when it was fighting under challenges from telecom giants like Samsung Electronics Co. and native rivals like Micromax Informatics Ltd.

BlackBerry has appointed Vice-president Matthew Tonkin as the interim head of India operations.

Currently Lalvani is serving his notice period as confirmed by Varghese Thomas, Director – corporate communications and social media for BlackBerry India to the media. However his further career plans is still unknown.
