Reliance Jio set to launch 4G services

Good news for broadband users, as the long wait for high-speed internet is about to be over. On the occasion of the company’s 41st annual general meeting, the chairman & managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani has announced that Reliance Jio Infocomm will commercially launch its much awaited high-speed broadband services 4G in this year, December.

Speaking on the upcoming service, Ambani stated that Jio 4G will come with a mission to cover nearly 80 percent of Indian population by this year end and aims 100 percent coverage over the next three years. It will also connect a million homes through fibre in India’s top 50 cities.

The entire bouquet of Reliance Jio services will be priced between Rs 300 and Rs 500.

With Rs. 70,000 crore of investment, Jio is initiating an advance broadband infrastructure to control the immense data and voice using a technology standard for offering high-speed 4G services, called LTE or long term evolution.
