InfoComm highlights standards in ISE education programme

InfoComm International is throwing the spotlight on the ever-increasing role played by standards in audiovisual system design as part of its Future Trends Summit and its all-new program of sessions for the Education Zone at Integrated Systems Europe 2012. ISE will take place from 31 January to 2 February 2012, featuring 750 exhibitors at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam.

Joe Bocchiaro III, VP, InfoComm’s Standards & Industry Innovations Program said, "Performance standards are new to the AV industry, and their implementation implies a strategy for every firm. This requires attention from both the technical and business perspectives, so in both the Future Trends session and the class I’m leading the following day, the intention will be to explore how our profession can be elevated by standards adoption."

Greg Jeffreys, President, InfoComm said, "The creation of globally recognised standards is one of the most significant of InfoComm’s achievements in the past few years. They have elevated the status of our industry in the eyes of architectural and other construction industry communities, and have the potential to greatly enhance not just the performance of the typical audiovisual system but the usability of the installation as a whole. We have only just started out on our journey to establishing a set of standards that truly defines everything an AV practitioner does in their daily lives, and ISE gives us a great opportunity to engage with the industry as we seek feedback on future standards development. Without valuable input from our members and the customers they serve, none of our standards would exist today."
