Infor has entered into an agreement to acquire GT Nexus for $675 million. The deal is expected to close within 45 days, pending regulatory approval. “Together, Infor and GT Nexus will provide customers with unprecedented visibility into their supply chains to manage production and monitor goods in transit and at rest,” said Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor. “In a complex, high velocity supply chain, all partners need to know what was ordered, when it was built, where it is in transit, if the order has changed, and has it cleared customs. Sophos intends to maintain the growth momentum it has achieved after its recent IPO announcement. The company won applause from the UK government, investors as well as customers for this public listing, which is the biggest ever of its kind for a UK software company. Earlier this month, Sophos had announced plans to raise $125 million by selling about 35 per cent of its shares priced at 225 pence per share in a public offering on the London Stock Exchange that would set its valuation at about $1.6 billion. India-born Pichai is named as the new CEO of Google, as co-founder Larry Page announces the formation of a new parent company Alphabet Inc which will replace Google as the publicly-traded entity. To facilitate mobile-based disbursement of monthly social security pension, Vodafone India has partnered with the Government of Haryana. The initiative, activated through Vodafone M-Pesa, Vodafone’s mobile money transfer and payment service has been carried out as a pilot initiative, covering 868 beneficiaries at five villages in Karnal and Mahendragarh districts in Haryana. Operated under the Government of India’s pension scheme, Vodafone India’s M-Pesa has been identified as the most suitable partner to facilitate digital transfer of financial disbursements to pensioners in Haryana, offering a safe and secure mechanism to transfer funds.
