Bank of India (BOI) will commence deployment of Microsoft Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD_RMS), under the project BOI Info-Guard. As this technology is being deployed, Bank of India will also adhere to the compliance requirements laid down by RBI Data Security Guidelines and ensure that its confidential and sensitive corporate information does not leak through unauthorized channels, with this deployment. Microsoft AD RMS is currently available for 100 users of BOI and will be extended to about 15,000 users in the next phase of deployment.
"Completeness, Compatibility and Productivity gains were the key drivers for Bank of India to select Microsoft AD RMS. By being in line with the RBI data security guidelines, it ensures safety and security of corporate data. It demonstrated deep and seamless integration into Microsoft Office solutions, thereby protecting information, which, in turn, boosts productivity while helping meet compliance," said Sameer Ratolikar, CISO & Head BCP, Bank of India.
Srikanth Karnakota, Director, Server and Cloud Business, Microsoft India, said, "We are delighted to partner with Bank of India for deploying Microsoft AD RMS. AD RMS system enables organizations to safeguard sensitive information, persistent protection with flexible and customizable technology. Rights can be configured to allow a user to open, modify, print, or take other actions with the rights-managed information. It also allows safeguarding data when it is distributed outside the network. This solution helps protect corporate identities, credentials and information protection."
