HID Global safeguards University Hospital 
HID Global has announced that its networked access control solutions and contactless readers have been selected by First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University in Guangzhou, China to provide multi-layered security with advanced access control level settings and centralized monitoring to improve the hospital's overall security in key access zones. 
Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University deployed HID Global's VertX V1000 networked access controllers, iCLASS R10 contactless readers and Genuine HID credentials for building access control to manage the large influx of patients, visitors and staff. 
"HID Global's solution delivers centralized management capabilities and enhanced security, addressing our needs for maximum security at key entry zones. The solutions are also scalable, enabling additional applications, such as alarm annunciations, biometrics and logical access for future system expansion," said Zhao, Project Engineer, First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
