Micro Focus announces Silk Tools 
Micro Focus has announced a comprehensive solution from the company’s Borland portfolio, which comprises of three solution offerings, Silk Mobile, Silk Performer and Silk Central, that deliver mobile automated testing, mobile performance testing, mobile network speed simulation, and mobile test management. 
“Mobile ecosystem is now a buyer’s market and a new minimum standard is being set.   Customer loyalty is fragile and a failing application not only means loss of revenue but impacts the brand reputation. Testing mobile applications is critical to ensure quality is delivered to all users; the application performs each and every time it is accessed; the application is reliable and meets the user’s expectations and that the application experience is constant across devises and platforms,” said Nitin Dang, Country General Manager, Micro Focus, India and SAARC
“The fundamental purpose of the product is to test the functional correctness of the mobile application before it is deployed to end-customers. With multiple platforms that companies have to build for, it becomes important for developers to have a tool that helps them ensure that the applications that they are developing, work as they are expected to, in each of these platforms.  Previously, developers had to rely on home-grown tools or open source, but now with the launch of Silk Mobile, they now have a tool that offers ease of use and ease of test creation for the mobile platform,” said Mahesh Mani, Director – Pre-Sales, Micro Focus India.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
