Reliance Globalcom partners with Ciena 
Ciena Corporation has announced that Reliance Globalcom has selected Ciena’s WaveLogic coherent optical 100G networking solutions to upgrade its FLAG Europe-Asia (FEA) submarine network. Based on Ciena’s OPn architecture, the 100G network will bring immense capacity increases to a route that connects Egypt and Jordan to satisfy customer demand for high-bandwidth services, while using its existing fiber infrastructure to support growing bandwidth requirements.
As part of the network upgrade, Reliance Globalcom will deploy a 100G DWDM system with Ciena’s 6500 Packet-Optical Platform equipped with WaveLogic coherent optical line interfaces....See More

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India. Earlier Sharp was a known brand in terms of technology but it’s position become negligible with the fastest technology and pricing structure of SAMSUNG, LG and Sony.
