Canon aims to touch 150 Stores in 70 Towns of India by 2014

With an aim to expand its market base, Canon India has announced the opening of its 101st Canon Image Square (CIS) in Trivandrum. This outlet launch of the town will be followed by the opening of the 102nd CIS outlet at the Lulu mall in Cochin by Canon India.
With the opening of these outlets, the company is aiming to reach revenues of Rs.2,125 crore by the end of 2013 from Rs.1,850 crore in 2012 which is 15% growth.
Dr Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice-President, Canon India, said, “Photography industry in India is reconfiguring itself by manifesting in the form of growing interest in higher functionality in compacts and digital SLR. Keeping this in mind, markets like Kerala are extremely critical for Canon’s growth in India as Canon registered 26% growth in camera biz in Kerala. In fact, for DSLR biz, Kerala emerged as the third-biggest market in India after Maharashtra and Delhi with 53% positive growth. Canon has set up 3 speciality photography stores in Kerala called Canon Image Square (CIS). Through these exclusive CIS, we aim to reach our customers and bring them the expertise of a wide range of Canon products and provide them with an interactive and informative buying experience."
He further added that Canon is aiming to open 50 more Canon Image Square stores in 2013 to touch 150 stores spread in 70 towns.The new outlet of Canon at Trivandrum will include a product range of digital compact cameras, D-SLRs, Inkjet and; Laser printers and consumables.........See More
