Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD) has announced Canvio Connect, a portable external hard drive that offers high-capacity storage along with the ability to access and share files directly from the device, making it the first of its kind.
"Toshiba's Canvio Connect represents the next evolution in external portable hard drives. With its remote access and file sharing capabilities, users can now share their digital content with friends, family and colleagues from anywhere at any time directly from their Canvio Connect-making it unlike any other portable hard drive on the market," said Maciek Brzeski, Vice- President of Product Marketing and Development, Branded Storage Products, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division.
Toshiba's Canvio Connect is a portable external hard drive that offers up to 2TB of storage in a new slim and compact form-factor and is available in several different colors, including black, silver, blue, red and white.
As long as Toshiba's Canvio Connect is connected to an Internet-enabled PC that is powered on, users will have complete access to their files, photos, music and movies from any device—no matter where they are. The Canvio Connect also allows users to share large files and folders instantly. DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
