Cisco touches 150 Million Viewers via Pay-TV Market in India 
Using the industry estimated average of five people per household, Cisco(NASDAQ:CSCO)announced that it has achieved a new milestone to provide enhanced TV experience to over 150 million viewers and more than 30 million digital homes in the Pay-TV market in India.
Jeff White, Senior Vice-President – Sales, India and SAARC, Cisco, said, “The Indian pay-TV industry now accounts for nearly a third of Cisco’s subscriber homes in the Asia-Pacific region. We are excited about our leadership in the industry, deep commitment to our customers and sharp focus on innovation in India.”
In addition, Cisco plans to support the cable TV industry to meet the government’s mandate to roll out digital addressable systems in a phased manner by 31st December, 2014.
Jesper Andersen, Senior Vice-President & General Manager, Service Provider Video Technology Group, Cisco, stated, “Achieving the milestone of over 30 million digital homes in India is a testament to our commitment to India over the last 18 years and our partnerships with some of the most successful cable TV and DTH satellite platforms in the country.”
