Nokia brings Social Media Week 2013 to India 
Celebrating the power of modern-age communication, Nokia has broughtSocial Media Week 2013, which is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media, to India. Launched in 2009, Social Media Week is making its debut in India with Mumbai as the host city from September 23 to 27, along with 8 other cities globally. To identify the emerging trends of social media, this biannual multi-city gathering is organized across the world simultaneously and hosts multiple events of different formats and themes at several venues.

To engage more people and provide them an amazing experience throughout SMW, Nokia this year is giving 8 lucky people the chance to really immerse themselves in a new culture. As SMW kicks-off around the globe, Nokia will be taking people from four different countries, including India, UK, USA and Germany, and will swap their locations with one another. These participants will be recording and broadcasting their adventure armed with the ultimate mobile reporting device -  the new Nokia Lumia 1020. To create more incredible experiences, Nokia will be hosting the first Twitter-based Air Hockey Game called "Nokia PUCK".

Additionally, Nokia will be organizing a mobile photography workshop and a photo walk with the theme “My Story in 41 pictures” at the NCPA auditorium on 23rd September.

In its first year, SMW Mumbai will showcase multiple themes that the social media has made an impact on. Some of the themes that SMW Mumbai will focus on include advertising & marketing, business & entrepreneurship, education & learning, government & administration, health & wellness, lifestyle & culture, etc. Besides these, there will be events like Pinkathon, Mumbaism on Canvas, Mumbai Eye, Tweetathon, etc, which will be carried out in different formats.
