Hitachi Data and Verizon to jointly develop SDN Solution
Hitachi Data Systems(TSE: 6501) and Verizon Enterprise Solutions(NYSE,NASDAQ:NZ) have announced an agreement to develop a software-defined storage solution based on Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) and Hitachi Content Platform Anywhere (HCP Anywhere) for the newVerizon Cloud.

Verizon is focussed on developing an ecosystem of enterprise technologies built to run on Verizon Cloud, the company’s new infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and object-based storage offering. HCP and HCP Anywhere are the latest enterprise-class technologies to be added to the Verizon Cloud, offering tools that enterprises can use to move their businesses forward as cloud-based services.

“We are building a dynamic ecosystem of enterprise-class networking, storage, and software-based capabilities that will run on top of our new Verizon Cloud infrastructure and Hitachi Data Systems is an important part of this plan,” said John Considine, Chief Technology Officer, Verizon Terremark.

“We are thrilled to work with Verizon to provide innovative solutions to enterprise customers. File sharing is a key part of every business and HCP Anywhere solves the problems of complexity, security, and data migration for the enterprise. HCP Anywhere is built with today’s mobile users in mind, so that employees, partners and customers can connect with their content from any device or location,” said John Mansfield, Executive Vice-President, Global Solutions Strategy and Development, Hitachi Data Systems.......See More
