Good talent getting recognized with remarkable salary hikes

Opportunities in newer sectors like e-commerce and digital has opened gates for new talents leading to revival of economy after a lull market of almost two-three years. This change has also led to salary hikes, with marked improvement of up to 60% for premium talent. The hiring market has thus seen a clear change from an employers’ to an employees’ market.
Today, talented candidates with good track record are commanding a salary with up to 50-60% hike as compared to earlier 20-30%. Every other company today is looking for talented and professional candidates and these exceptional candidates in turn are getting inundated with premium offers.
It has been observed that the high-potential talent from consumer sectors, such as FMCG has many takers from diverse sectors like telecom and healthcare. The sectors that have seen a marked pickup are retail, e-commerce and digital where there are specific requirements for CXOs.
Companies are also trying to retain their top talent and one of the ways in which they are doing so is by incentivizing high-potential leaders with long-term growth and value-creation incentives.

DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications.
