Samsung strengthens its skill development initiative
Samsung has announced an initiative to set up 18th Samsung Technical School in the country at ITI, Kalamassery in Kerala. This was announced at an event in Thiruvananthapuram where Samsung signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government Industrial Training Institute, Kalamassery, Kerala.
The MoA was signed by Smt. A. Shainamol, IAS, Director, Industrial Training Department, Government of Kerala, and Rajiv Mishra, Vice-President, Samsung India Electronics, in the presence of Shri Shibu Baby John, Minister for Labour & Skills, Government of Kerala.
The Samsung Technical School to be set up at ITI, Kalamassery will provide students trade-specific training on various aspects of repair and troubleshooting of consumer electronic products such as mobile phones, televisions, home theatres and home appliances. Through the specially-designed curriculum Advanced Repair and Industrial Skills Enhancement (A.R.I.S.E.) programme, the course will also offer students the opportunity to get real-time work experience at Samsung authorized service centres and training on soft skills so that they can provide exemplary customer service.
Shri Shibu Baby John, Minister for Labour & Skills, Government of Kerala, said, “Collaborations with industry leaders such as Samsung bring the critical component of exposure to the demands of the industry, which will help with making our youth industry-relevant and employment-ready.”
