C-DAC, Kolkata rejoices Digital India Week

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC),an autonomous Research & Development organization under Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Information & Communication Technology, Government of India, is a vibrant partner in the Government initiative in transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy, through the “Digital India Programme”.  C-DAC Kolkata is celebrating the Digital India Week (DIW) at its campus to promote the cause of digital innovation for the benefit of citizens, starting from 1st July 2015.

The 1st of July also marks a historical milestone not only for C-DAC, but for the nation as a whole. It was on this very day, in the year 1991 that saw the launch of India’s first indigenously developed supercomputer, the PARAM 8000, designed and developed by C-DAC. C-DAC has since then, given many useful products, innovations and solutions to the nation.  C-DAC has today emerged as a premier R&D organization in IT&E (Information Technologies and Electronics) in the country working on strengthening national technological capabilities in the context of global developments and responding to change in the market need in selected foundation areas...See more
