Narendra Nayak at the helm of BlackBerry

BlackBerry has appointed Narendra Nayak as the company’s new Managing Director for India operations. During the last one year, the company faced downsizing in the employee base due to a global transformation drive, wherein it is trying to reduce its dependence on the hardware or smartphone business and focus more on software and solutions for enterprises.

Nayak has taken over the responsibilities from Matthew Tonkin, BlackBerry’s Vice-President, Carrier Sales and Distribution, APAC. Since the exit of Sunil Lalvani, Tonkin was taking care of the company’s operations in India.
