Karbonn brings K9 Smart with the power of 12 Indian languages

Karbonn has unveiled K9 Smart handset which allows users to access the entire Smartphone in the users’ own local language. Karbonn K9 Smart is an extension of the K9 phone series, which is one of the longest running mobile phone models in the Indian market.

Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles, said, “With the launch of K9 Smart, we aim to dissolve the language barrier which is one of the major impediments inhibiting smartphone adoption amongst non-English speaking population. As per IAMAI, the local language user base grew 47% and touched 127 million in June. The growing consumption of local language content on mobile phones is a clear indicator of the need for vernacularizing the smartphone ecosystem for bridging the gaping digital divide. DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery. The favourable impact of M2M on job creation had already set in as seen by the arrival of the first set of start-ups in the areas such as agriculture, smart cities, healthcare and water management.” She stressed that NTP 2018 would be transformative in harnessing the full benefits of M2M communications. ITI powered with 58 start-ups and Technology OEMs

In the recently held two day conference in the silicon valley of Bengaluru, ITI Ltd. has partnered with 58 start-ups and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), covering the manufacturing of a wide range of ICT and IoT-based solutions, where 400 start-ups have applied for.
