Oracle fortifies expansion plans for India

Supporting India’s digital mission, Oracle has unveiled its expansion plans with the intent to strengthen India’s growth. Three major investments have been announced by Oracle CEO Safra Catz which include the setting up of Oracle Campus in Bengaluru, India; 9 Regional Software and Technology Incubation Centres and initiative to train more than 500,000 local students each year in the country.

Announcing the same, CEO Safra Catz stated, “Oracle has been in India for over 25 years and during that time we’ve grown our investments tremendously. In fact, India now represents our second-largest employee base outside of the United States, with nearly 40,000 current employees and an additional 2,000 current job openings.  We are investing over US$400 million in Bengaluru, opening 9 incubation centres, and training half a million students each year during this expansion phase to support India’s tremendous growth.  We ‘Make in India’ ...”Read more
