EMC All-Flash Storage Solutions accelerate market share globally

EMC Corporation has announced a series of all-flash storage portfolio as customer and market share milestones solutions which address a multitude of enterprise needs for consolidated and mixed workloads.

According to the recently published Quarterly Enterprise Storage System Tracker by IDC, EMC has accelerated its market share lead in all-flash arrays. In the all-flash array market, EMC’s leading 40.3-per cent market share in vendor revenue for CYQ42015 climbed by 4.1 percentage points from the previous year. For the entire calendar year 2015, EMC’s 37.7-per cent market share for all-flash array vendor revenue is more than two-and-a-half times the next competitor’s market share...Read More

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India. Earlier Sharp was a known brand in terms of technology but it’s position become negligible with the fastest technology and pricing structure of SAMSUNG, LG and Sony.
