Vodafone and Huawei trial 4.5G

Vodafone UK and Huawei are conducting technical trials of 4.5G (TDD+) with LTE TDD to significantly increase capacity and efficiency of its 4G network in urban areas.

The 4.5G techincal trials will lay the foundation for the introduction of 5G by 2020 in the UK market.


New 4*4 MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) techniques eight-way transmit and receive (8T8R), together with multi-user beam-forming are being tested in Manchester.
