Worldwide tablet shipments decline 12% in second quarter

Worldwide tablet shipments (inclusive of slates and detachables) has declined 12.3 percent year over year as vendors begin to refocus their product lines.

Worldwide tablet shipments reached 38.7 million in the second quarter of 2016 according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker.
65 percent of tablets shipped in the second quarter were Android-based systems followed by iOS, which captured 26%, and Windows for the remaining share.
