GST portal now opens its fresh registrations

The GST Common Portal has opened inviting fresh registrations of first-time taxpayers, including those to be registered as TDS/TCS and enrollment of GST practitioners. It is also open for existing taxpayers to complete their enrollment process. 

The GSTN has set up a robust portal already equipped to handle as many as 2.6 billion transactions every month. The GST portal has already opened two windows for enrollments – first between November 8 and April 30 and then from 1st to 15th June. This is the third window to allow all taxpayers enough time to migrate to the new regime. 

“To help the people register themselves to the new GST portal smoothly, we have released three videos just after the opening of the portal today. The videos are an official guide for registration which will ensure a smooth rollout of the regime. The videos have been crafted to help all taxpayers, including those who are not well versed with technology to complete their enrollments​. DoT Secretary hints at making Draft NTP 2018 available in public domain soon

“A draft National Telecom Policy 2018 that is liberal and non-prescriptive in its licensing approach in Machine to Machine (M2M) communication is being given final touches. The policy should be in the public domain in the next two to three weeks for discussion and responses from stakeholders,” said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications. Aruna Sundararajan said, “M2M is the next big opportunity for India in terms of its impact and the quantum change that it will bring about in the quality of services and delivery.
