Telecom sector is being taxed like non-essential items: Balesh Sharma, CEO, Vodafone Idea said in a statement, the telecom sector is being taxed like non-essential items such as liquor and cigarette, instead of being treated as critical infrastructure. 'We have got customs duty at 23%, GST at 18%,' he said. 'We paid lot of money for spectrum, that's the reason for so much of debt that we're carrying,' Sharma said. The policy makers and the political parties has to think positively on how to evolve the debt-ridden Telecom sector.

Japan's Sharp to buy Toshiba PC business for $36 mln

As per the report, Sharp Corporation of Japan to buy Toshiba Corp’s personal computer business for 4 billion yen ($36 million). Sharp brand is under the control of manufacturing giant Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract manufacturer and major Apple Inc supplier, to produce PCs more cheaply – just as it was able to do in TVs. Another report also noticed by VARINDIA, Foxconn is also promoting the Sharp TV to start marketing in India, which has kick started from this year IPL(Indian Premiere League) ,with this they are marking a return to a business in India.
