Thales announces the completion of acquisition of Gemalto: Thales has completed the acquisition of Gemalto in 15 months, for €4.8 billion. This creates a Group on a new scale and a global leader in digital identity and security employing 80,000 people. The larger Thales will now master all the technologies underpinning the critical decision chain for companies, organisations and governments.

The company’s board has approved the resolution to convert the business into a public entity, renaming it from PhysicsWallah Private Limited to PhysicsWallah Limited, according to a recent regulatory filing. PhysicsWallah, which has revolutionized affordable education in India, intends to list its equity shares on one or more stock exchanges, though no specific timeline has been set.
