After Russia, Silicon Power expands into India

According to the most recent research data from the leading market research company, The Gfk Group, Silicon Power is now one of the Top 3 brands in Russia's USB flash memory storage market and is, according to its management, a step closer to achieving a global status of top tier supplier in this particular industry.

The GfK data shows that amongst the major flash memory brands, Silicon Power had the highest growth, of more than 5% from the period of October 2009 - October 2010. This latest information regarding Silicon Power's achievement in the flash memory storage market in Russia reflects the company's progress onto becoming a global top brand. Encouraged by its success in Russia, the Taipei-based manufacturer is already expanding its activities in the emerging markets such as India.

In India, Silicon Power is planning its development centred on a network of countrywide service branches. As of January 2011, the company has launched its operations by opening a new Service Centre in Delhi, with more following soon in other major areas, such as Maharashtra, West Bengal and Karnataka. These current developments reflect the Indian market's growing importance to the company and its ambition for establishing its solid presence there, as a stepping stone for its global growth.

Referring to this, Sam Wang, the management head for Silicon Power's Indian office, said, "Just as in Russia, Silicon Power strives to become one of the top flash memory providers in the Indian market. To accomplish this goal, we are focussing on reinforcing the channel relationships with key partners, as well as building brand recognition. Our plan is to strengthen our sales and market presence through activities such as advertising, special promotions campaigns, incentive programmes and service support. At Silicon Power, we are sure that, with our excellent product quality and competitive pricing, we will be seeing some impressive sales records in India in the recent future."
